Shanghai Jiao Tong University (simplified Chinese: 上海交通大学; traditional Chinese: 上海交通大學; pinyin: Shànghǎi Jiāotōng Dàxué; abbreviated Jiao Da (交大) or SJTU), sometimes referred to as Shanghai Jiaotong University (no space) or Jiaotong University, is a top public research university located in Shanghai, renowned as one of the oldest and most prestigious selective universities in China. In cooperation with the Antai College of Economics and Management at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the Sauder School of Business at UBC offers the UBC IMBA program on a part-time basis and delivers a comprehensive business education in only 20 months. Now, you can have the best of both worlds: part-time study in China and an intensive two-week learning experience   on the beautiful UBC campus in Vancouver.

30 years in China

UBC’s China Programs began in 1980 with a strategic partnership with Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Since that time, we have built a strong presence in China by developing academic links with leading universities and forging partnerships with key Chinese business and government enterprises. Over 500 senior Chinese officials have attended executive development programs at the Sauder School of Business at UBC, including such dignitaries as  Mr. Shi Guangsheng, former Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, and Mr. Sun Zhenyu, Chinese Ambassador to the World Trade Organization.


Graduation
Students complete the program by December of their second year. Graduates will receive an International Master of Business Administration (IMBA) degree from UBC. Graduates may attend a completion ceremony in Shanghai organized by UBC and SJTU and a convocation ceremony at UBC in Vancouver in May.

Admission Requirements

Educational Background

· Candidates from all academic disciplines. 

· A minimum of a four-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. 

· An overall standing of B+ or better in their undergraduate degree.

Work Experience

· Individuals with diverse professional experience

· At least two years of work experience

· Five or more years of full-time work experience preference. 

· An average of seven years of work experience of current IMBA students.

GMAT

The GMAT is recommended for all applicants. 

You must arrange to have the official test results sent directly to the 

MBA Programs Office at UBC in Vancouver. 

There is no minimum GMAT score requirement, but in order to be competitive, 

a score of at least 550 is recommended.

1.How many students does the MBA programme accept each year?

ACEM MBA has one intake each year. Each year, the MBA programme accepts roughly 200 students from all over the world to enroll.

2.What are the minimum requirements to apply to ACEM ' MBA programme?

To maintain the quality of the ACEM MBA programme, all candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree or above
  • A full-time work experience of two years or longer
  • A GMAT score or ACEM Admission Test score
  • Proficiency in English

3.How does ACEM evaluate applicants' work experience? Is there a particular type of work experience ACEM prefers?

We evaluate applicants' work experience comprehensively -- not only in terms of length of time in one's current position, but also in terms of career progression, contributions to the work environment, etc. While there is no particular work experience that ACEM prefers, we look for individuals who exhibit professional growth in their areer path and leadership potential.
